FUNERAL SERICE CONDUCTED FOR WALLACE E. SIMPSON
Friends from many points attended the funeral service for Wallace Emerson Simpson of Malakwa, the services being conducted from the Grandview Seventh-day Adventist Church on Monday August 22 by Pastor Frank Baker of Vernon.
Mr. Simpson was born November 30, 1885 in Onandago, Ontario. In 1912 he was united in marriage to Alice Maude Undershay, and they took up residence in Alberta where they shortly became members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Here their family of seven was born, six of whom are still living.
In 1940 the family moved to Grandview Flats where Mrs. Simpson died. Later Mr. Simpson moved to Haney where he married Mrs. Edna Henry Irvin. They moved to Malakwa where they resided until his death in Vernon Jubilee Hospital on August 19 (1955).
Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife; one son Percy of Fairview, Alberta; one step-son, William of Oliver; five daughters, Mrs Liola Holdal, Mrs Eva Hovland and Mrs Myrtle Marshall, all of Malakwa; Mrs Florence McLean(?) of McBride, and Mrs Eunice Chabot of Williams Lake. There are also four brothers, one sister, and twenty-one grandchildren.
Pallbearers were A. Burden(?), Grandview; W. Maxwell, Whiteman's Creek; and R. Knaup, (?) Smith, W. Hebert, L. Dickson of Malakwa.
Interment took place in Grandview Flats Cemetery. (Armstrong Advertiser, Aug 25, 1955)
