Harvey Ronald Howk, 85, of Clinton, passed away at 2:42 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, in The Waters in Clinton. He was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Petersburg, the son Harvey Howk and Amy James Howk. He was a bulk agent for the Standard Oil Company.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Irene Cox Howk; daughters, Andra Sudler and her husband Stephen of Indianapolis and Christa Beard and her husband Rick of Clinton; sons, Jay Howk of West Lafayette and Van Howk and his wife Cherie of Fairview Park; grandfather of Steven Sudler and his wife Trisha, Jonathan Sudler and his wife Lori, Jennifer Myers and her husband Jason; Jack Gates, Chris Beard and his wife Debbie; April Hay and her husband Jason, Eric Beard, Christopher Howk and his wife Amy, Jaimie Howk Cassidy and her husband Matt, Andrew Howk, Sabrina Howk, Daniel Howk and his wife Billie Sue, Patrick Howk; great-grandfather of Kyle, Caroline Sudler, JoAnna Sudler, Jayce, Jenna Myers, Tyler Servies Beard, Issac Howk and Claire Cassidy; two brothers, Richard Marion Howk of Rosedale and John Robert Howk of Broomfield, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Clinton First United Methodist Church, Rosedale Masonic Lodge, Zorah Shrine, Vermillion County Low Twelve Club and Rosedale American Legion. He also was a former member of the Clinton Lions Club.

Services are 7 p.m. Wednesday in Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman Street, in Clinton with the Rev. Randy McPike officiating. Burial of his ashes is in Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is 3 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
