Cecil D. Ackerson
CROSBY - Cecil D. Ackerson, age 76, of Crosby, died on Aug. 6, 2009, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1932, in Brainerd to Dewey and Ruth Ackerson.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; three daughters, Roxanne (Patrick) Kelly, of Shoreview, Vicki (Robert) Prentice, of Wessington, S.D., and Jacki (Wade) Christenson, of Mounds View; one son, Scott (Berda) Ackerson, of LaCrosse, Wis.; three stepchildren, Kevin (Sue) DeCent, of Crosby, Penny (Mike) Hachten, of Aitkin, and Adam (Sindhu) DeCent, of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Gerald (Heidi) Ackerson, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; one sister, Gail Holmes, of Brainerd; 10 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Sharon K. Ackerson; one son, Calvin Ackerson; and one stepson, Kenneth DeCent.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Aitkin.
Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Staples. Friends may call on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
