GERTRUDE LENA WEIR FUNERAL THURSDAY
Gertrude Lena Weir, 59, died at Enderby Hospital early Nov, 3 (1970) following a long illness. She was well-known to many in this district although she lived during the past few years at Falkland where her husband has been a school principal.
Mrs Weir, born at Beiseker,Alta., was married at Harmattan. She and her husband came to Grandview Flats in 1955 where they were both active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was educated at the normal school at Calgary and in 1931 went into teaching.
She is survived by her husband, John, son Reginald, 7, at home, and a daughter, Ann, Mrs Sidney Wombold at Olds, Alta. Also surviving her are her parents, Mr and Mrs Jacob Braunberger at Salem, Ore.; sisters Irene at Portland, Ore., Myrtle at Sylvan Lake, Alta., Edna at Rolla, Missouri, Ruth at Okatoks, Alta., Gladys at Salem, Ore,; brothers Willard at Grant Pass, Ore., Norman at Roseburg, Ore. and Arnold at Dallas, Texas.
Funeral service will be Thursday (today) at 2 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Grandview Flats with Pastor D. Tinkler conducting the service. Burial will be at the Grandview Flats Cemetery. Mountain View Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
