CANCER ENDS LIFE OF CHARLES ABEL

Employee of Lippencott Company dies at home on South Clinton Street.
Charles Abel, age 66 years, 9 months and 26 days died at 4:18 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the family home on South Clinton Street. Death resulted from a several month's illness of cancer of the stomach.
About three weeks ago Mr. Abel was taken to St. John's Hospital for an operation. The serious condition of the patient was noted and he was returned to his home in an ambulance. After arrival at his home he began to lose strength until summoned late yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Abel was a member of the Comer Lodge, No. 64 Independant Order of Odd Fellows of Pittsburg, Pa., Flint Glass Workers Union No 94 of New Cumberland, West Virginia, Muncie Tribe of Reo Meo, K of P Lodge No 335 of this city. He was employed at the Lippencott glass factory until compelled to give up his position on account of sickness. He was a member of the Christian Church in this city. His father was born in Germany.
The widow, Mrs. Mary M. Abel, two sons, Clarence and Earl Abel and one daughter Mrs. Katherine Perry of Frankton and two half sisters, Mrs. Birdie Cochran and Mrs. Louise Welsh of Wheeling, W. Va survive.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the First Christian Churge in charge of the Rev. George Whitley and burial will take place in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. No spiritualistic work will be given by a fraternal organization but all orders are invited to attend the funeral.
