If you would look closely at the photo of both this old tombstone and the new one provided by the VA, the death date reads 9 Feb 1838. I have photos I have taken of both of them. I enterred into the SAR on this RWS's service in 1972.The "47 VA Regiment" shown on his tombstone, was in the Civil War and not in the Revolutionary War? (So that notation on the tombstone is incorrect) Wm. Breedlove served at Yorktown under Capt. Scott;Virginia Battalion: Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Gaskins;Second Brigade: Brigadier General Anthony Wayne;Second Division: Major General Baron von Steuben;Right Wing: Major General Benjamin Lincoln;Commander-in-Chief: General George Washington. The Above info is from... https://www.nps.gov/york/learn/historyculture/american-units-at-yorktown.htmAccording to SAR memberships granted, he was in the Virginia Regiment or Virginia Militia. I find no mention of "47 Regiment VA."
