MARION--Leo Louis Harner, 90, 158 E. Sinclair St., died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1912, in Wabash County, to Louis H. and Jeanette E. (Bever) Harner. He married M. Madeline Jones on April 29, 1943, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. She survives.
He graduated from Wabash High School in 1931, and retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1972, after 30 years as a mail carrier. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael Stephen (Cheryl) Harner and Joseph A. (Diane) Harner, both of Wabash; two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Ann) Pretorius, Wabash, and Cynthia S. Harner, Marion, Ill.; two brothers, Lawrence Harner, Leesburg, and Lowell (Marcia) Harner, Wabash; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A grandson, Scott Harner, one brother and a sister are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lagro. The Rev. Sextus Don will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the St. Bernard Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
