Clara Agnes Ganahl is the daughter of John Joseph Ganahl and Mary Louise Joseph. In 1902, Clara graduated with honors from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Taylor and Maryland Avenues, St Louis. Clara entered the religious community founded by St Madeleine Sophie Barat, the Society of the Sacred Heart, later that year.

Clara made her first profession as a Religious of the Sacred Heart in 1905. Clara became a choir religious with the title of Mother Clara Ganahl, RSCJ, and was a part of the Maryville Community of Religious of the Sacred Heart, which was located at Nebraska and Meramec Avenues in St Louis. Clara spent her religious life in the Maryville community and died at the age of 35 years.
