She was born on April 12, 1919, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Leonard Lee and Elnora A. Aleshire Petefish.
Mrs. Wood was a homemaker and a member of the Page United Methodist Church.
On July 3, 1938, she married Raymond Douglas Wood, who died on Sept. 5, 1976.
She is survived by a son, Larry D. Wood of Falls Church; a daughter, Sandra Housden of Falls Church; a brother, James W. Petefish of Williamsburg; a sister, Marjuerite Smelser of Rileyville; three grandchildren; and three Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Katheryn Virginia Alger and Rachel Vaughan; and a brother, Elwood 'Woody' Petefish.
A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Wilton B. Thomas.
Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
