THEODORE F. "BUCK" BROOKS SR., 87, of Mabelvale, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003. He was born in Forney, Texas, to G.C. and Perna Milholland Brooks. He married Edith Meddley and they were married 52 years before her death in 1988.

He was employed by Sam Mitchell Interior Painting and Decorating before joining the Little Rock Police Department in 1941. He retired from the Department in 1972, and worked as a Security Guard at the then Worthen Bank. In the mid-1960's he purchased and operated the Funeral Escort Service. Buck was a member of the Sixth and Izard Church of Christ and later the Mabelvale Church of Christ.

He is survived by his children, one son and one; a sister; a brother; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Brooks.

Funeral services will be held Monday at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Mabelvale Church of Christ or The Children's Home in Paragould, Ark. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
