At this time I am not sure were Darrell was born but he said he was raised by his mother and that in 1973 he had hitch hiked to Kansas from Wisconsin and had been stuck here since.
Darrell lived in the Douglass Nursing home, one aide that worked there named Kathy took a special liking to Darrell as he did her. They had a strong grandfather/granddaughter relationship for several years. She would often take him with her to her house and for outings. She was the only "family" he had.
Darrell had came to my house for his last Christmas dinner, he was a little man with a big smile he was very polite and was completely relaxed around his new family.
Darrell had bought himself a cemetery plot in the Douglass Cemetery but the nursing home staff had him cremated. At this time we do not know where his ashes are.
