William Farmer Brown was born in New Hampshire, son of William Brown and Martha Adeline Lombard. He married Mary Grant, daughter of James S. Grant and Nancy St. Clare, 30 Dec 1875, in Breckinridge, Kentucky. They had five children, James William Brown, Lillie M. Brown, George Roy Brown, Cora Ann Brown and Bessie Lee Brown. Mary Grant Brown died in 1883 or 1884.

WF Brown married L. Martha Raibourn on 23 Nov 1884, in Clarksville, Texas. They had one son Oscar Monroe Brown.

WF Brown and ML Brown moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1897 and to Washington State in 1917. They were living in Mabton, Yakima, Washington in 1920 next to his daughter Lillie M. Brown and her husband Robert Hazelett Barnett. They were in Yelm, Thurston, Washington in 1930. They lived in Centralia, Lewis, Washington in 1940.
