Services for Byron T. Negley, 68, of Stanton will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at The Hower Mortuary in Norfolk. The Rev. Glen Kennicott of the First United Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will be in The Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. The body will lie in state Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Howser Mortuary in Stanton. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 16. He was born Aug. 22, 1906, at Hooper to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Negley. In 1960 he retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He married Opal Cork on Nov. 30, 1932 at Pierce. Survivors include his widow, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
