Services for Mrs. Viola Newman, 78, 1736 N. 24th St., Lincoln, formerly of Norfolk, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Arnold Krugler, pastor, and the Rev. Walter Buss, Pierce, will officiate. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Lincoln, with the Rev. Donn Rosenauer officiating. Visitations will be Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Home for Funerals. Mrs. Newman, a retired drug store clerk, died Wednesday at a Norfolk hospital. She was born July 2, 1902, at Scribner to the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bentz, and married Cecil Newman in 1925 at Pocatello, Idaho. They came to Norfolk at that time and Mrs. Newman lived here until moving to Lincoln in 1950. Mr. Newman died in 1945. Mrs. Newman was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth in 1955, two brothers and two sister. Surviving are one grandson, Kenneth Newman of Adams; a great-granddaughter, Amber Dawn Newman; three brothers and three sisters, Robert Bentz, Mrs. Florence McGinty and Mrs. Gerald (Elizabeth DeVore), all of Norfolk, John Bentz of San Diego, California, Earl Bentz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mrs. Alice Daniell of Stanton.
