Dr. Randall was born at Pittsburg, N. H. Oct. 16, 1840. He graduated from the Harvard medical school in 1867. He came to Decatur fifty-seven years ago and this has been his home ever since. For many years the family lived at 437 E Eldorado street. In July of 1907 Dr. Randall sold that property as the ground became the site for the present St. Patricks Catholic church. Dr. Randall then purchased the property at 878 W. William street and resided there until the time of his death.
Dr. Randall, though he retired from active practice several years ago, was always a student and was an interesting talker. He was always interested in vital statistics and for several years he had not failed to turn in a report in relation to the death rate in the city of Decatur. He was one of the best read men in Decatur.
Dr. Randall owned considerable property and was considered well-to-do. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Miss Bertha Randall of Decatur and one sister, Mrs. C. E. Cox of Manchester, N. H.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at the residence. Friends who wish may call Wednesday afternoon. They are requested to omit flowers. The burial will be private and will be in Greenwood.
