"Louis H. Manuel Dies At Biloxi Home"

"Louis H. Manuel, native of New Orleans and resident of Biloxi 46 years, died at his home 909 Holley street, early this morning. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Lee(sic) Suarez Manuel,; four sons, Louis Jr., Henry S., Sidney E. and Leo E., Biloxi; five daughters, Mrs. Leo Fountain, Mrs. Lawrence Trochesset, Mrs. Jos. Wink, Mrs. Albert Henley, Biloxi, and Mrs. Kenneth Schneider, New Orleans; a brother, Theo. D. Manuel, Ocean Springs ; one sister, Mrs. Edward Wetzel, Biloxi, 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mr. Manuel celebrated his golden wedding anniversary February 4, 1941(sic). He was for five years a member of the sea food commission; was a past president of the Biloxi Benevolent Association and its treasurer at the time of his death, and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. For many years Mr. Manuel was in the contracting business and associated with his brother-in-law, Edward Wetzel, having contracted and built many buildings along the Coast. The funeral will held from the home Sunday at 3 p.m. with services by Father J. P. McGlade at St. John's Catholic Church."
