Uncle Leonard was a sergeant in the Signal Corps during WWI. He began a grocery business at Harrison Grocery in Riderwood. He joined John S. Parker Company in 1944 and became a partner soon after. He retired in 1969. He grew roses at his summer home on Mt. Carmel Road in Baltimore County.
