Funeral services for Thomas David Hutchinson, Jr., 76, of Oklahoma City, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Thomas David Hutchinson, Jr. peacefully surrendered his soul to Eternal Life on January 30, 2010, at the VA Retirement Home in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He was born at home on August 22, 1933, in Minco, Oklahoma. After attending schools in Oklahoma City, Verden and Pocasset, he entered the Marine Corps in 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged with honor and with a National Defense Medal in October of 1955.

After earning undergraduate and Master degrees from Central Oklahoma State, he taught high school mathematics at Noble, Boise City and three schools and two junior colleges in Oklahoma City. He retired from teaching in 1986.

Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Todd Geller; his father, Thomas David Hutchinson, Sr.; his mother, Minnie C. (Schenk) Hutchinson; and his brother, Jimmy R. Hutchinson. He is survived by two sisters: Darlene M. Riley and partner Ray Howard of Chickasha; and Verna H. Gauze and husband Charlie of Olathe Kansas; sister-in-law, Markie Hutchinson of Aubrey, Texas; four nieces, five nephews, numerous cousins many special friends, and three very special son-like young men: Daryn Korstjens of Dallas, Texas, Aryn Korstjens of Oklahoma City, and Kevin Korstjens of Edmond.

The family will accept friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 5th from 5-7 p.m. Thomas will be interred in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Oklahoma beside his mom and brother under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
