SPITLER, MARY-By note just received, it becomes the painful duty to announce the death of one of the most esteemed mothers of in Israel, Mrs. Mary Spitler, consort of Mr. Abraham Spitler.

Mrs. Spitler was born 12 Sep 1786 and died 01 Feb 1878 having attained the good old age of 91 years 4 months and 20 days.

She was married in June 1810 and survived her husband, 13 years and 3 days.

She was baptized by Eld. Rob't. Garnett, April 12th, 1824 and united herself to Mill Creek church of which she was a member nearly 54 years.

She leaves 4 surviving children of whom our State Senator is the youngest.

It has been my pleasure to have known the deceased over 40 years and if ever in her long life she spoke a harmful word of anybody or any person ever entertained an unkind feeling for her it has never come to my knowledge. As a wife, she was a pattern; as a mother, the pride of her children; as a neighbor, as far as I know, without taint; and as a church member, loved and esteemed. Blessed are the death which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. J. K. B.
