OSCAR H. SELTZ
Oscar H. Seltz, 82, of 400 E. Maple Street, Gladwin, died Tuesday, September 7, at the Gladwin Nursing Home. He had been in failing health for the past four years. Born in Ruth, Huron County, Michigan, May 4, 1889, he came to Gladwin Countyin 1912. He farmed extensively in Secord Town
ship on Three Rivers Road until moving to Gladwin City in 1960. He and the former Miss Elizabeth Ensign, of Gladwin, were married January 23, 1918
.
Surviving are four sons, Clarence of South Tahoe, Calif., Wilbur of Rochester, Elmer of West Branch, and Roger of Lexington Park, Md.; seven daughters, Mrs. Donald (Ella) Vallender of Beaverton, Mrs. Nathan (Virgelyn) Fial of New York City, Mrs. Laura Smith of Jackson, Mrs. Wilbur (Bertha) Raymond of Gladwin, Mrs. John (Dorothea) DeLair of Midland, Mrs. Nelson (Wanda) Cornell of Chicago, and Mrs. Gerald (Clara) Carvey of Alma; a brother, Gust of Huntington, Tenn., and a step-brother, Ralph Seltz of Florida; 38 grandchildren. A son, Vernon preceded him in death October,1969.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at theMathews Chapel with the Rev. John Cermak officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
