Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Lewis Charles Keith, 62, of 1244 Eagles Nest Road, died Sunday at home.

He was born in Somersett, Pa., and was preceded in death by his father, Lewis A. Keith, his mother, Audra Mae Enos Yoder, and step-father, William Yoder. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam and was an instructor at Virginia Military Institute. He received the Soldier's Medal, the Bronze Star Medal with 2 "V" Device (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), the Purple Heart, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), the Air Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (3), the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Master Parachustis Badge, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star.

He is survived by his wife, Odela Arrana; two sons, Lewis C. Keith, Jr. of Monrovia, Calif., and Brian J. Keith of Goldsboro; one daughter, Pricilla Keith of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Glenn E. Keith of Chambersburg, Pa.; three grandchildren; and a special friend, Goldie Kennedy of Dudley.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Mr. Horace Modlin will officiate. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Thursday afternoon, and at other times at the home.
