Carroll Newton Harbin, 95, died Friday, December 31, 2010. Carroll was born May 25, 1915 in Canton, Haywood county to the late Chester N. and Inez Garrett Harbin. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita McMahan Harbin, three sisters, May, Helen and Margaret; two brothers, Jack and Denver.

He was a employee of Beacon and Charles D. Owen Mfg.; a 32nd degree Mason as well as a 50 year member of Swannanoa Chapter of Eastern Star, serving as a worthy patron and a District Deputy Grand Patron of District # 26, OES.

Carroll is survived by his present wife, Lettie Dalton McMahan Harbin and many special nieces and nephews. He has been a faithful member of Swannanoa First Baptist Church, joining in May of 1930 and is a member of the Builders Sunday School Class.

Service will be Monday, January 3, 2 p.m. at Swannanoa First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Swannanoa (Piney Grove) First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
