John Barlick Jr., 90, of Springfield died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 26, 1904, in Springfield, the son of John and Louisa Groenz Barlick Sr.
He married Kathryn H. Van Sacik in 1928; she died in 1995.
Mr. Barlick was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
He was employed for 30 years by Peabody Coal Company as a supervisor and miner.
He was also employed with CILCO for 17 years as a journeyman pipefitter.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Church.
Survivors: one daughter, Mrs. Robert J. (Kathryn) O'Connor of Springfield; one son John L. Barlick III of Springfield; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Irene) Vehovic of Springfield; one brother, Al Barlick of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. James O'Shea officiating.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
