Amelia "Emily" Ann Pittman was the daughter of Charity Taylor and Stephen Pittman. Stephen was the son of Sion Pittman and Elizabeth "Betsy" Glare. Betsy was the daughter of Stephen and Mary Glare.

Amelia "Emily" married Calvin Britt first. Calvin Britt died in 1864 in the War of the Northern Aggression.

Children of Calvin Britt and Amelia Ann Pittman are: Mary Frances Britt-West (Lewis), Gaston (Effie Jane Phillips), Andrew J. (Mary Ann Phillips), Elizabeth Britt-Pittman (Winfield), Christopher and Caldonia Britt-Phillips (Tommie J).

Amelia Ann Pittman married a second time when she married William Boyd Sutton.
