HALF A CENTURY
Had Mrs. Streator Lived in Galesburg.
GALESBURG, Mich., Aug. 1.—(Special)—After a residence dating from 1849, Mrs. Laura Streator died at her home in Comstock township Thursday evening at halt past nine o'clock, aged 85 years. In the above mentioned year the deceased with her husband came to Michigan and settled upon the then "new farm" that has since been their home. Marius 0. Streator, the husband, now many years deceased, was during life an important factor in the history of his township, as is proven by the fact that he served as its supervisor during' eight terms and was assigned many other responsible positions, both of a public and private nature. Not only in his public career, but also in the more trying experiences of frontier life, Mrs. Streator was always his capable and willing coadjutor, and to them came success and the respect of all, as the result of such mutual endeavor. The deceased has been for several years an Invalid, but with every comfort that affection could provide, and surrounded by the familiar scenes, she had survived the allotted years and welcomed eternal rest.
