Augustine Erwin Padgett Died Saturday

"Loogootee, July 11 - Augustine Erwin Padgett, 55 years old, living on Loogootee Route 2, died at the Daviess county hospital Saturday evening
(July 9, 1949) at 7:05 p.m. following a lingering illness. His condition had been serious for the last month.

"Born August 13, 1893 (1883), in Daviess County, Mr. Padgett was the son of Leo and Adeline (Smith) Padgett. He was a member of St. Mary's
church in Barr Township.

"He married Emma F. Billingham in 1914 and she survives with two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Louis, Virgil,
Arthur and Mary of Indianapolis; Bernard of San Bernardino, Calif. and Mrs. Anna Kane of Corning.

"Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's church in Barr township, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Miller funeral home. Rosary services will be conducted at 8 o'clock this evening."

NOTE: Augustine E. was born August 13, 1883, baptized August 28, 1883 at St. Mary's, son of Leo and Theresa Adeline Smith Padget.
