Son of George Carter Harsin and Sarah Agan. Husband of Mary Lilliam Hamilton.

JOHN WILLIAM HARSIN was born in 1864 and departed this life at his home near Bartlett, Nebraska, at the age of 71 years, 8 months, after a lingering illness during which he confessed his faith in his Savior and a readiness to go.
He moved with his parents to Mills county, Iowa when a small boy. Later he moved to Nebraska where he has since resided.

On January 4, 1887, he was united in marriage to Lilly Hamilton at Glenwood, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Harry Shafer, Loretto, Nebr.; Mrs. John Krogh, sr., O'Neill, Nebr.; Will Harsin, Spalding Nebr., one infant daughter, his father and one brother preceded him in death.

He leaves his wife and children, and his aged mother of Carson, Ia., two brothers Edd of Carson, Iowa and Arthur of Scotts Bluff, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren to mourn his going, also a host of kind neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church at Bartlett, conducted by Rev. Timmer of Spalding. Burial was in the Bartlett cemetery.
