Mr. Pangle was born October 27, 1860 in Lima, Ohio, but came to Portland in 1882. He was appointed manager of the Marquam Grand theater in 1900 by Calvin Heilig and then moved into the Heilig when it opened 10 years later. He continued there until 1928. The Heilig theater is now the Mayfair. Theaters in those days featured road show legitimate productions and vaudeville. Mr. Pangle was a member of the Elks Lodge and an honorary member of the Musicians union. Survivors include his widow, Lottie, and a sister, Mrs. Clem Poundstone of Portland.
