Marian and Jim were the first to be married in the Harrisville Methodist Church after it's second fire in October of the previous year, 1944. There were still no pews in the church for their small wedding.
They had two daughters they named Carol Ann and Kathryn Mildred Barnes. Marian was just about everybody's favorite aunt.
Marian graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a teaching degree and she was an elementary school teacher for 29 years.
She was very active in her church. She taught Sunday school for 66 years and held various offices in the United Methodist Women's group.
She also was a member of Harrisville Community Club, Woman's Christian Temperance Union, Retired Teachers Association and the PA State Education Association.
She died in 2005 in the Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
