PROVO--Elmer L. Terry, Provo, assistant Utah County attorney, said Thursday night that no inquest would be held in the death of Ben Morrill, 33, 770 E. 3rd North, who was shot and killed late Wednesday night when the deer-hunting rifle he was taking from his car accidently discharged.
According to Provo police, members of the family found Mr. Morrill slumped over the steering wheel of his automobile Thursday at 6:30 a.m. Police said the victim when found had one foot on the ground and the other on the running board and that he was sitting on the edge of the seat apparently just as he fell when the bullet entered the right temple.
Born October 13, 1913, at Junction, Piute County. Mr. Morrill was a son of John David and Emma Carson Morrill. He attended Junction schools and graduated from the Circleville High School. He later attended the Branch Agriculture College at Cedar City for two years.
He married Pearl Bridges in Glenwood and they made their home there.
The couple divorced in January 1946 and Mr. Morrill married Ruth Clark on June 29 in Pioche, Nevada. They made their home in Provo, where he was employed as a mechanic at the Anderson garage.
Survivors include his widow; his mother, Mrs. Emma M. Davis, Junction; a son and a daughter, Ben LeRoy and Laura Janett Morrill, Sigurd, Sevier County; two step-daughters, Ruth Ann and Anita Joyce Caldwell, Provo; two brothers, Melvin J.
