Three New Castle families were left fatherless as the resuldt of a crash involving a three quarter ton Army reserve truck and a sedan on Wilmington Rd. a quarter of a mile north of Walmo at 3 p.m. yesterday. Killed instantly in the tragic accident were David L. Patton, 20, of 1730 E. Washington st., driver of the auto and father of a four month-old son; Harry Jones, 45, of 437 E. Long Ave., father of two teenage girls and a son and James Tuscana, 36 of 1602 E. Washington St., father of two young boys..............
Harry L. Jones was born in New Castle May 21, 921, to the late Richard and Sarah Bond Jones. He had been married for the past 23 years to the former Ann Slaman and was employed as a burner at the westinghouse Electric Corp. in Sharon for 21 years.
Mr. Jones was a member of the El-Fityet-Alween Society, a veteran of World War II of the 229th Field Artillery in Germany and he was also a veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, a son Richard at home; two daughters Laurie Ann and Marcie, both at home; two brothers, William of Philadelphia and Richard of Aliquippa; six sisters, Mrs. Lillian Passmore of Florida, Mrs. Edith O'Brien in Florida; Mrs. Pearl Tilly of Aliquippa, mrs. Beatrice Hopkins of Sharon, Mrs. Florence Canady of West Middlesex and Mrs. Sarah Jane King of Florida.
The body will be taken to the El-Fityet-Alween Society Hall on E. Long Ave. where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the El-Fityet-Alween Society under the direction of the William F. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. Interment will be in Valley View cemetery.
