Son of Frank and Elenora (Curtis) Bogus.
As a young boy, Bogie delivered papers for a number of years. After graduation from St Patrick's High School in 1947, he bacame The North Platte Telegraphs Printer and concurrent newspaper deliverer, retiring after 37 years. He then joined the National Guard in 1947 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1951. In 1978, he started his own janitorial service and oversaw service for Andy's Pub, Buds 215, Char Bar, Moose Lodge, Presbyterian Church, Farm Fare, Brothers Lounge, House Bar, American Legion, Fox Theatre, Drive Inn Theater and Mann Theater at the mall. He retired in 1988. He then started delivering the Denver Post 7 days a week until his health precluded further delivery.
Bogie married Gloria Stewart on Nov 23, 1969. Altogether, there were 4 children involved in this union; Norma (Stewart) Bornschein, Calvin Stewart, Franklin and David.
Bogie was a 55 years member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and also was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, AARP, AMVETS, VFW and Moose Lodge. His love of fishing continues through his two sons, Frank and David. Bogie will always be remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor.
Survivors include his four children, Franklin of Franklin, VA, David (Brandy) Bogus of North Platte, Norma Bornschein of North Platte and Calvin Stewart of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Della (Robert) Brown of Hershey; six Grandchildren, Creed, James, Hailey, Chris, Nick and Chris Bornschein; Uncle Charley Pavlik of St Paul, Neb; nieces and nephews, Dennis (Peggy) Brown, Paul Brown, Marcia Huebner, Susan (Warren) Best and Cathy (Cary) Anthony and numerous cousins, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elenora (Daras) and Frank Bogus, stepfather, Pete Daras and wife Gloria Bogus and many cousins.
