Services were Wednesday at the family plot at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, south of Dilley. The Rev. David Rochon, pastor of St. John's Catholic Church of Yamhill and Gaston, officiated with arrangements by Fuiten Mortuary, Forest Grove.
Donald F. McMahon was born at The Dalles Aug. 29, 1931, the son of the late Frank and Alice Fleischhauer McMahon, and later came with his family to Gaston. He attended grade and high school in Gaston and finished his education while serving with the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy and saw combat duty during the Korean War.
Following his discharge he was employed as an electronics technician by the Northrup Electric company and did specialist's work on submarines. His work took him to both the East and West coasts and he was married to Wilhelmina Helmuth, in Massachusetts, in 1953, and she died in 1972.
Surviving are two sons, Donald F. with the U.S. Navy at San Diego and William A. of Canton, Mass. Other survivors include his uncle, Gus Redner of Gaston.
