Funeral Held Sunday for Aged Dodson Woman
Mrs. Ellen A. Scott, 91, a resident of the Dodson area since 1906, died in Turlock, Calif., at 1:15 pm Tuesday, Feb. 21, after a long illness. She had gone to California only a few months ago with a daughter.
Mrs. Scott was born Oct. 20, 1875 at Peach Orchard, Ky. During the long period she made her home at Dodson she was active in the Church of Christ as well as in many other parts of the community life. The family lived at Avery before moving to Dodson. Her husband, Willie Tarlton Scott, preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1941.
Funeral services for Mrs. Scott were conducted at the Dodson Church of Christ Sunday, Feb. 26,1967 at 2 pm Minister Claude Walkup of Gould, Okla and Minister Van Bonneau of Dodson officiated. Burial was in the Dodson Cemetery under the direction of Coley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Howard Hunt, R. T. Jameson, Roy Ginn, J. C. Howell, Ross Swift and Pat Bouchelle. Mrs. Scott is survived by two daughters and two sons: Miss Gladys Scott of Dodson, Mrs. Josephine Scott of Turlock, Calif, Fred Scott of Modesto, Calif, and Gene Scott of Phoeniz, Ariz. One sister also survives, Mrs. Lula Cornelius of Stamps, Ark., as do eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
