WOLFLICK.--Our Papa! How do we write about him without telling you about her? Robert E. Wolflick, Sr. met Carolyn Foelker on the dance floor of the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, in 1949. The band was playing the song "You'd Be So Easy To Love". She was in a blue suit, waiting. He walked up to her and said, "You sure would be!" The rest is history. Bob and Carrie married in 1951. He was in the Army and was stationed in Germany. She was not about to let him go alone, so across the Atlantic she went, where they lived sweetly for a few months. Upon returning they settled on the north side of Chicago. They spent the next nineteen years in Morton Grove, Chicago raising their five children, Rob, Greg, Jay, Beth and Fawn. Dad was a printer for Beatrice Foods for 35 years. After a short stint living in Pennsylvania, they could no longer stand being away from the grandchildren and had to retire west of the Rockies where they all were, Audrey, Trey, Clay, Brandon, chris, Gavin, Max, Sean and Molly. Nine in all. After a good fifteen years watching the grandchildren grow, they bought an RV and "hit the road". They traveled for the next ten years from Nova Scotia to San Diego and Alaska to Key West, making friends at every stop. Blissfully unaware of time, they entered into Honeymoon Phase II. It was a love of a lifetime and an example for all of us to emulate. Our Papa went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2010. We will be having a service to celebrate our Dad's life on Saturday, February 27th, at 1:00 p.m. at Foothills Christian Church, 365 W. Bradley Avenue, El Cajon, CA. Please feel free to join us. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to www.smiletrain.org
