Mr. Boyle attended St. Bernard School and Bradford High School. He worked for C.L. Wasson Oil Company and then entered the US Marine Corps on March 14, 1944. He fought at Iwo Jima and was wounded. He was honorably discharged on April 4, 1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart . After returning home he worked again for C.L. Wasson Oil Company for 20 years and then for Minard Run Oil Company as a pressure plant operator for over forty years
On September 6, 1952 at St Raphaels Church in Eldred he married Ruth M. (Irons) who survives.
He was a member of St. Raphael Church in Eldred.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons: Steven J. Boyle, and Michael C. York, a sister: Jeane Thayer, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph P. Boyle, two sisters Agnes Lindquist and Eleanor Lent.
Burial in McKean Memorial Park.

Inducted into the service in Mar. 1944, Pvt. Boyle received his basic training at Oceanside, CA before going overseas in Sept. 1944.
