In 1867, Weed Corey was awarded a law degree from Columbian College of Law, Washington, DC (now the Georgetown University School of Law). Thereafter, he practiced law in the District and Virginia.
On December 14, 1864, he married Miss Charlotte Elizabeth Caywood in the District of Columbia at her residence. The service was performed by the Rev. Phineas D. Gurley, chaplain of the US Senate and pastor of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church.
The Coreys had one child, George Boaz Corey, who became a physician. George Boaz Corey had a daughter, Girle Luise Corey, by his first wife. When that wife died, Charlotte and Weed Corey raised their granddaughter.
