RCMP Constable Audi was posted to British Columbia at the time of his death. He was on duty in an unmarked police vehicle in an area known as Brohm Lake on Hwy. 99 north of Squamish. He slowed down and came to almost a complete stop, had his emergency lights activated in order to make a U-turn to go after a violator. The limo behind Cst. Audi came to a stop. The bus behind the limo did not stop and instead went around both vehicles as Cst. Audi was making his u-turn. The bus collided with Cst. Audi's police vehicle directly on the driver's side of the vehicle (t-bone). The impact was so great that Cst. Audi was thrown to the passenger side of his vehicle. Doctors were on the bus that hit Cst. Audi and did everything in their powers to save him however were unsuccessful due to the massive internal injuries.

Constable Audi was the founder of an annual memorial youth volleyball tournament in Squamish that brought the youth of the community together with various business and government agencies. It started off with a mere 4 teams and the last tournament had over 18 teams. It was a memorial tournament in the name of another fallen officer from Squamish Detachment who had died in a car accident along with a family member while off duty.

Constable Audi was also very active in the DARE program which he taught at Mamquam Elementary School.

The company who owned the bus was charged and fined $2000 for operating a vehicle with faulty brakes.

Constable Audi was a five year veteran of the RCMP and is survived by his parents and sisters.
