A graveside service for Luther L. Dunn Jr. was held today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery. Rev. Terry Garvin officiated. J.H. Churchill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dunn Jr., 77, Mayfield, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at his home.

From 1951 to 1963, he worked for Penn-Walt Corp., Calvert City, and from 1963-1973 he was the plant manager for Chlorine and Alcohol Plants with the Georgia Pacific Corps in Bellingham, Wash. In 1973, he joined L.C.P. Chemicals in Linden, N.J., and retired in 1980 as vice president of manufacturing. From 1980-1985, he consulted in the Chlorine Handling Systems in South America. He was a past member of First Baptist Church, Murray.

He was a 1947 graduate of Murray High School and a 1951 graduate with a bachelor of science in chemistry of Murray State College. Born March 5, 1929, in Murray, he was the son of the late Luther Dunn Sr. and Lillie Bailey Dunn.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Ross Dunn, to whom he was married Oct. 7, 1950, in Corinth, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Osha and husband, Robert, Honolulu, Hawaii; two sons, Richard Dunn and wife, Charlotte, Murray, and Walter Dunn, Mayfield; one sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Adair, Tuscumbia, Ala.; four grandchildren, Gentry Osha, and Ali, Dalen and DeShawn Dunn.
