Washington, Aug. 6-Mrs. Kathleen Flood Poindexter, 54 yeomanette in the Navy during the World War, and one of the founding members of the Jacob Jones post, American Legion, died here yesterday.
Mrs. Poindexter was the wife of Major William A. Poindexter, quartermaster corps, U. S. A., former United States vice consul in Dundee, Scotland.
Born in Lynchburg, Va she was married in 1904 in Alexandria, and then went to New York to make their home. In 1907, they went to Panama where Major Poindexter was an engineer during the construction of the Panama Canal. During the World War, Major Poindexter served in Scotland, and in 1919, Mrs Poindexter went there to join him. They returned shortly afterwards and have since been living here.
Funeral services were held today at the Fort Myer Chapel, with burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Katherine P. Crowley and Mrs. Mary Clark of Washington, and Mrs Eldon Lindsey, of Atlanta, Ga., and a sister, Mrs. R. D. Oglesby, of Atlanta.
