Richard Roy Stehlik

Richard Roy Stehlik, age 83, went to his eternal rest Wednesday, April 26, 2006.

He was born May 4, 1922 in Two Rivers. After active Coast Guard duty in World War II, he married Gertrude Doncheck of Two Rivers, and began what was to be a very successful career in information management systems. Widowed in 1956, he raised two children and remarried in 1967 to Audrey Charneski of Manitowoc. The two found many adventures in life while living in Fort Mitchell, Ky., and Fort Madison, Iowa, before retiring to Fort Myers, Fla.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years and best friend: Audrey; sister: Janis (Dr. Jack) Anderson; son: Daniel (Janis); daughter: Susan; and three grandchildren: Christopher, Jennifer (Andrew) Pell and Benjamin.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection in Florida, and a memorial service was held in New York City at St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Ashes were interred in a Coast Guard service at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

The family has requested donations be offered in his memory to: Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust 3725 Alexandria Place, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
