Mrs. S. F. Curtis died at the home of her brother G. L. Dibble in Parker, Thursday morning, November 3rd at 5 o’clock, after several weeks illness. She was buried from the Dibble home on Friday at 2 p.m.

An eloquent funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Dr. Wallace of the Presbyterian church and a quartette composed of Mesdames Fite and Kyes and Messrs. Fite and Servick sang very touchingly “Shall We Gather at the River” and “Nearer My God to Thee.” The floral offerings were beautiful. Mrs. Curtis was laid to rest beside her father in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Sarah Francelia Curtis was born April 16th, 1852 in Guilford, NY. She died Nov. 30th, 1911. Aged 59 years, 7 months, 14 days.

She was united in marriage with Chas. H. Dibble in 1868, coming to South Dakota to reside in 1883 and in 1885 was married at Omaha, Nebr., to Geo. E. Curtis, then removing to Buffalo Co., where they remained until 1889 when they returned to Parker and this city has since been Mrs. Curtis’ home.

There survives her one son Ernest of Edgemont, S.D., one sister, Mrs. E. C. Bartlett, of Franklin, N.Y. and one brother, G. L. Dibble of Parker.

Mrs. Curtis was a woman whose life has been full of trouble, and the burdens of her life have been very heavy, but her Christian faith sustained her in all her experiences and in the bearing of her burdens. She was a constant attendant at the services of the church, and a devoted member. Her friends regard her with the highest esteem, and her earnest Christian example will be long and gratefully remembered.
