Weden was shot dead by a jealous rival suiter, Bruce Grimsley. Both men were courting the 17 year old daughter of Levi Skinner. Grimsley fled the area and was never heard of or seen again. It was thought by his family he committed suicide.

The last sad rites over the body of Weeden Albertson, the nineteen year old lad who was shot and killed Saturday night as the result of a quarrel, were held this morn at the Agency cemetery. Rev. Hiram Baker, assisted by Rev. Cummings, officiating.
HELD FROM HOME of SISTER
The funeral was held from the home of Weeden Albertson's sister, Mrs. George Hampton of North Graves street, where the eulogy was delivered and sacred hymns rendered. Numerous friends of the deceased and the grief stricken family were in attendance at the home and grave and a galaxy of beautiful floral tributes adorned the casket, evicing the deep sympathy of the numerous frineds for the family on their sad bereavement.
BURIED AT AGENCY
After the services at the home, the funeral cortege wended its was to the Agency cemetery, where the interment was made in the presence of quite a large gathering of neighbors and relatives. The services were closed by Rev. Baker, who in conducting the services, asked that the taker of this young life might be spared a likening end and live to regret and repent the anger of the moment that caused him to lose possession of his faculties to such a degree as to commit such a rash deed.
