Mrs. Clara E Koehler, whose mother traversed the Old Oregon Trail 90 years ago, died Wednesday at a private Portland sanitarium following a long illness.
Once active in the work of the Oregon Pioneers Association, she was the daughter of the late Rockey P. Earhart, who once served as secretary of state for Oregon and as an Indian agent. Her mother was Nancy Burden Earhart, one of the early Oregon pioneers.
Mrs. Koehler was born in Salem, Oregon, and received her education at Mills College, California. Her husband died some time ago. She is survived by a sister, two nephews, two nieces, four grand nephews and four grandnieces.
