Eleanor Frances Langeloh a lifelong Rye resident passed away on January 29, 2010. Born June 23rd, 1920 to William and Anna St. John. Beloved wife of John Langeloh, her high school sweetheart who she married in 1942 at the Church of the Resurrection. A graduate of Rye High School and Short's Secretarial School, she worked for Fawcett Publications in Greenwich before raising her family. She later became the Director of Insurance and Health Benefits for the Methodist Churches of the United States. A gifted artist, she was also very active with the Milton School PTA and the Rye Cub Scouts. Her home was always a welcome visiting spot for her children's many friends. She enjoyed wonderful travels throughout Europe, to Ireland, in particular. Eleanor spent many summers entertaining friends at the family inn on Block Island. Survived by her sons John ( Mary Jane) of Livermore, CA, Eric, (Gail) of Rye, Richard (Colleen) of Murrell's Inlet, SC, daughters Barbara Butler ( Kevin) of Rye, Diane of Germantown, MD., and Kathy Reeves (Frank) of Ridgefield, CT., 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, John in 2008, her sister Katherine Murphy, and her brother William St. John. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home today from 2-5 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at the Church of the Resurrection at 10 AM.
