Jack attended Dow School and was one of 46 graduates from the Central High School in 1901. While still in school, Jack earned spending money by carrying buckets of beer to the workers on the trains as they were loading and unloading freight and passengers. The workers paid him a nickel a bucket. Later Jack started working for the Texas Bank as a messenger.
The family were members of Trinity Episcopal Church where Jack served as the superintendent of the Sunday School for over twenty years. Jack retired twice from the Texas National Bank of Commerce as Senior Trust Officer after working for this bank for over fifty years. He was a member of the Shrine Temple, the Masons, and the Jesters. In 1939-1940 he served as Arabia Temple potentate.

Outside the bank, Mr. Dreaper has been equally busy. He is president of the board of trustees of Ripley Foundation; president and treasurer of the Motor League of Houston; and treasurer of the Easter Seal committee. He has served as president of the Salesmanship Club, in which he has held membership since 1918, and of the Houston Association of Credit Men.
He has also served as past high priest of the Washington Chapter Royal Arch Masons; thrice - illustrious master of the Houston Council Royal and Select Master Masons. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Mr. Dreaper says he plans to travel extensively now that his 54 years' service to the banking profession have come to an end..."
