Lucinda was the daughter of William Hadaway and Malinda (Wilson) Hadaway of Cobb County, Georgia. Lucinda was present in the home of her parents when Yankee soldiers came to their house in Cobb County on two or more occasions and forcibly removed most of their food and livestock. She described the experience in her deposition to the Southern Claims Commission when her father tried to recover costs of the items. She and George married on 30 November 1865 in Cobb County and moved to Arkansas after 1880.
