At INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He lived in McLean, VA. He grew up in Siesta Key, FL and graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA with a degree in engineering. He served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Morocco. He also earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University, and a Master's in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University. He was a program manager at the Harris Corp. in Palm Bay, FL from 1982-1989. He moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1989 where he worked as Director of International Programs for Comsat, until leaving to join Computer Sciences Corp. At the time of his death, he was a partner in the CSC consulting practice.
He is survived by is wife of 21 years, Ellen Berkowitz, and his mother, Nancy Buffington of Florida.
Interment followed funeral services conducted at the National Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA, Sunday, October 19, 2008.
