Sam was predeceased by his parents Lillian and Harold Coleman Warren as well as two brothers Harold Jr. and David Warren. Sam was the widower of Loretta Lovett Warren. He is survived by his son Samuel Allen Warren II and his daughter Tammy Warren Thomas and her husband Randy,
He is also survived by Loretta's daughters, Tina Williams and Dawn Williams, that he raised as his own. He is further survived by his Granddaughter Harley Thomas and grandsons Daniel Thomas, Derek and Michael Warren and Austin Johnson.
He is also survived by three sisters Carol Ward, Sandra Davis and husband Robert, Frances Beacham and husband Weymouth and brothers Paul Aubrey Warren and wife Jean and Michael Keith Warren and wife Gail.
Sam is survived by many nieces and nephews to whom he was a friend, a mentor and much more than just an Uncle.
