Irene S.Ward, 82, of 1017 West Ninth, died Thursday evening at her home. Born March 2,1883 in Blockton, Iowa, she moved to North Platte in 1943 from Grand Island, where for many years she owned and operated the Blue Moon Cafe. She was a member of the Salvation Army. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Philip(Ruth) Herndon of North Platte;Two brothers, R.C.Walston of Bliss. Idaho and Thomas Walston of Sharksburg, Iowa;Two grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral will be held in the Salvation Army Chapel. Burial will be in the North Platte cemetery.
